Clavinet D6

Clavinet D6

The Clavinet is the sound of funk and jazz fusion par excellence: it was used in countless songs in the 60's and 70's, including Stevie Wonder's 1972 hit "Superstition", as well as Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon".

It is based on the principle of the clavichord, in which the strings are struck by small rubber tips and pressed onto an anvil. Two sets of pickups give different tones which can be combined using selector switches.

Pianet N

Pianet N

The Pianet N has a colorful, gritty sound. In the 60's, it was especially appreciated in rock bands, and featured in songs such as "I Am the Walrus" by the Beatles, and "She's Not There" by The Zombies.

Under the lid, metal reeds are plucked by small leather pads. The resulting vibrations are converted into electrical signal via electrostatic pick-ups positioned close to the reeds.

Pianet T

Pianet T

In the 70's, Hohner started producing the Pianet T, a keyboard with only passive electronics, and using reeds that are plucked by silicone rubber pads.

The Pianet T has a much rounder and mellower sound that its predecessors. It is especially suitable for ballads, softer rock, and other genres in which a more delicate keyboard sound is desired.

Electra-Piano

Electra-Piano

This versatile instrument has a warm, resonant sound which can be used across a wide variety of genres, from rock and pop to jazz and soul. It was famously featured in Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven".

In the Electra-Piano, the resonating bodies are tuning forks, which are struck by small hammers when a key is pressed. Electromagnetic pickups convert the vibrations to an electric signal which is then amplified.

Original customization features

The Hohner Collection for Pianoteq offers unparalleled control over the instruments' internal mechanics, allowing you to fine-tune exclusive parameters like pickup position and mechanical noises to perfectly shape your sound.

The Clavinet's original voicing panel is also available in all versions of Pianoteq, allowing you to switch between high and low pickups and explore different tone colors with ease.

Emblematic effects

To faithfully recreate the famous sound of these legendary instruments, a range of effect modules has been integrated into Pianoteq, with presets for each.

With the Amp effect, you can adjust the pre-amplifier saturation to achieve anything from a smooth, silky tone to a gritty, crunchy sound. The classic stereo resonances are captured perfectly with the Tremolo effect, while the Auto-Wah effect breathes life into funky Clavinet patterns. Additionally, the Chorus and Flanger effects add a subtle, motion-rich thickness to your sound.
